A Landmark 3-Year Partnership

The Africa Times |
Following its successful market launch on 2 September, Discover Sport has announced a groundbreaking three-year partnership with Tennis South Africa (TSA), becoming the organisation’s official streaming partner.

The collaboration will bring South Africa’s premier tennis competitions to digital and broadcast platforms, allowing fans across the country and abroad to follow the nation’s top players and events.

Expanding Access and Visibility

At its core, the partnership aims to enhance access, visibility, and impact. Discover Sport™ is dedicated to giving voice to underrepresented sports, creating new opportunities for athletes, federations, and fans to connect and grow.

Through this alliance, South African tennis will receive consistent coverage, with a full calendar of tournaments streamed live and distributed to mainstream broadcasters for maximum reach.

Empowering the Next Generation

Launched in early 2025, Discover Sport™ has quickly become a trusted partner for sports bodies seeking broader reach. The platform provides federations with the tools and resources to produce live coverage, showcase athletes, and inspire future fans.

“Our role has always been clear: we are here to enable,” said Stephen Watson, Founder of Discover Sport™. “This partnership gives South Africa’s tennis stars the stage they deserve, while using technology to connect more fans with the game.”

Building a Legacy for South African Tennis

For TSA, the agreement marks a pivotal step in growing the sport.

“This partnership is about more than broadcasting matches—it’s about telling our players’ stories and inspiring communities,” said Anthony Moruthane, TSA’s General Manager. “Tennis has incredible potential in South Africa, and this platform will help us reach more people than ever before.”

What Fans Can Expect

As part of the deal, TSA and Discover Sport™ will launch a monthly magazine show featuring tournament highlights, player profiles, and behind-the-scenes content.

Discover Sport™ will also provide live streaming and production support for TSA’s premier competitions, including:

  • ITF World Tennis Tour events

  • Davis Cup (World Cup of Tennis)

  • Junior National Championships and Junior Masters

  • Rising Star Tennis National School Championships

  • National Club Championships

The upcoming Davis Cup tie between South Africa and Morocco on 13–14 September will be the first major event streamed under the new partnership. Coverage will be available on Discover Sport™, shared with mainstream broadcasters, and distributed to the International Tennis Federation (ITF).

Driving Social Impact Through Sport

The partnership underscores Discover Sport’s™ mission to create sustainable pathways for athletes and federations. The platform, often described as “the app that gives back,” combines social media functionality with fan engagement, enabling athletes to be supported, scouted, and sponsored.

“It’s an exciting partnership, and we can’t wait to see it grow,” said Watson. “We wish all the players, their families, and sponsors the very best in the tournaments ahead.”
