Domestic Violence Leads to Tragedy in Northern Bahr El Ghazal
A 21-year-old woman was arrested on Saturday in Aweil, Northern Bahr El Ghazal state, following the alleged strangulation of her two young children. The disturbing event occurred after a domestic dispute with her husband, according to police reports.
Details of the Incident
Authorities revealed that the suspect, identified as Akon Lual Ayii, attacked her children, aged three and one, inside their home in the New Site neighborhood. Witnesses reported her unsettling behavior as she attempted to take her own life amid the evening routines of neighbors.
Police spokesperson Madut Ngong Aleu confirmed that both children died immediately from the assault, highlighting the tragic nature of the incident.
