THE AFRICA TIMES | GHANA — Ghana and the Netherlands have initiated a three-year partnership aimed at bolstering the country’s commercial vegetable seed sector. This collaboration seeks to enhance farmers’ access to quality planting material and encourage investment along the vegetable value chain.
Overview of the Business Seed Partnership
The Business Seed Partnership (BSP) unites public and private-sector organizations to develop Ghana’s seed market. The partnership emphasizes variety trials, farmer training, quality systems, business development, and investment.
Inaugural Launch
The launch event featured representatives from the Ghanaian government, the Dutch Embassy in Ghana, and the World Bank’s Food System Resilience Programme. Private companies and additional project partners also participated.
