U.S. Imposes Sanctions on South Sudan
On Tuesday, the United States announced sanctions against Crawford Capital Ltd. and imposed visa restrictions on members of South Sudan’s transitional government. The U.S. government accuses these entities of exacerbating conflict, engaging in corruption, and obstructing the fragile peace agreement in the country.
Details of the Sanctions
In a statement from U.S. State Department spokesperson Thomas Pigott, the sanctions specifically target individuals and entities undermining the 2018 Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS).
