Demand for Withdrawal of SPLM-IG Administration
A senior official from the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-in-Opposition (SPLM-IO) has formally called for the withdrawal of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Government (SPLM-IG) from three counties in Jonglei State. The official alleges widespread abuses perpetrated by the government and the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF) against the Lou Nuer community.
On July 18, Tut Makuei Reth Liep, the chairman of the SPLM-IO Caucus in Uror County, made this demand on behalf of the Greater Lou Nuer Community. He asserted that the community aligns itself with the leadership of SPLM/A-IO Acting Chairman and Commander-in-Chief, Dr. Oyet Nathaniel Pierino.
