Allegations of Child Trafficking Against a Self-Proclaimed Prophet
Authorities in Aweil East County, Northern Bahr El Ghazal State, have accused Peter Ayuel Deng, a self-proclaimed prophet and founder of the Stone International Church, of operating a suspected child trafficking scheme involving 245 children.
Peter Ayuel, known as Peter AD, is a South Sudanese preacher. He claims mentorship under Nigerian televangelist T. B. Joshua and established his ministry in 2009.
Details of the Interception
On May 5, Aweil East Commissioner Garang Thiang Deng announced that county authorities intercepted four buses transporting children aged five to twelve. The organizers allegedly claimed the children were being taken to Juba as part of a government scholarship program.
