Morocco Security Praised by Top German Official

Rabat – Holger Munch, the President of the Criminal Police of Germany, has praised the security cooperation between Morocco and Berlin.

Munch stated that the partnership is “very good.” He noted that the collaboration between the two nations has improved over the years.

Munch spoke to the press after meeting with Abdellatif Hammouchi. Hammouchi is the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGSN-DGST).

Munch attended the 93rd session of Interpol’s General Assembly in Marrakech. The event was held from November 24-27.

German Official Praises Moroccan Security

Munch expressed gratitude for Morocco’s security services. He described them as “very efficient.”

The German official emphasized the importance of cooperation. Both countries rely on each other in the security field, he stated.

The General Assembly commenced on Monday. It brought together 800 delegates from 179 countries.

Focus on Transnational Crime

The delegations included 82 police chiefs. They discussed issues such as dismantling transnational organized crime.

The assembly’s goal is to strengthen Interpol’s police capabilities. It also aims to promote the role of women in policing.

Marrakech has hosted this event for the second time. In 2007, it hosted the 76th session under the theme of security.

During his opening remarks, Hammouchi reaffirmed Morocco’s commitment. He pledged to boost global and regional security cooperation.

Morocco seeks to tackle all forms of crimes and security crises. Hammouchi also commended Interpol’s role in facilitating international security.

He noted Interpol’s work in strengthening multilateral police efforts.
