“I want to assure all visitors that we are ready,” he said. “We have heightened security.”

Security Measures and Crime Prevention

He noted many hotels and apartments are fully booked. He cautioned visitors about potential online booking fraud. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is addressing these cases.

The CC commended police for arresting 36 suspected criminals in Kisauni Sub-county. Further arrests occurred in Likoni Sub-county.

Authorities aim to eliminate machete-wielding gangs. The goal is to prevent harassment of residents and visitors.

Collaboration for Peace

Noor stated that National Government Administrative Officers will collaborate to maintain peace. This collaboration includes Chiefs, Assistants, Nyumba Kumi elders, police, and residents using a multi-agency approach.

Beach Safety Protocols

Kenya Wildlife Service personnel are backing Tourism Police Units and Chiefs on beaches. This ensures beachgoers’ safety.

A whistle will signal swimmers to exit beaches by 6 PM. This measure aims to prevent drownings or injuries.

Hotel establishments received instructions to have lifeguards. This is to prevent pool-related deaths or injuries.

Parental Guidance and Youth Behavior

Noor urged parents to monitor their children during the holidays. This prevents indecent behavior influenced by social media or peers. Arrests could occur, leading to parental regret.

Government Investments and Development

The County Commissioner highlighted the government’s significant investments. These investments include expanding road networks and constructing affordable houses and markets.

Housing and Infrastructure Projects

Mombasa County has initiated housing, market, and hostel construction projects. These projects represent an investment of Sh23 billion.

The Nyali and Hobley Estate Affordable Housing Projects have each been allocated Sh7 billion. The government is also constructing modern hostels.

These hostels are for the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) Portreitz Campus and Shanzu Teachers College.

Home Ownership Encouragement

Noor encouraged Mombasa residents to register on the Boma Yangu platform. This registration allows them to own the houses under construction.
