Faith Leaders Unite Against Substance Abuse in Marsabit County
THE AFRICA TIMES | KENYA — Faith leaders in Marsabit County have initiated a concerted effort against drug and substance abuse. This initiative follows an interfaith training organized by the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA).
The training involved pastors, sheikhs, youth, and women representatives. Participants gained knowledge and skills to act as champions in combating drug and substance abuse within their communities.
NACADA’s Commitment to Faith Leaders
NACADA Marsabit County Coordinator Mohamed Wako emphasized the critical role faith leaders play. He urged them to integrate messages about substance abuse into sermons and religious programs.
