Court Proceedings Halted Due to Absences
The Special Court hearing the case of suspended First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar faced interruptions on Wednesday. This disruption occurred after seven co-accused individuals failed to appear due to alleged logistical challenges.
During the 95th sitting at Freedom Hall, only Dr. Machar was present. Presiding Judge James Alala Deng noted the absence of the other defendants.

Lead prosecutor Ajo Ony’Ohisa addressed the court, attributing the absence of the remaining suspects to logistical issues. He stated, “We have only managed to bring the fifth accused, H.E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, before this honourable court due to logistical constraints.”
