Tragic Death of Child Linked to Rabid Dog Bite in Northern Bahr el Ghazal
THE AFRICA TIMES | SOUTH SUDAN — A five-year-old child has tragically died following a suspected rabid dog bite in the Riang-Anei neighborhood of Aweil North County, Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.
Incident Details
The child, identified as Kuol Garang, passed away on July 30 after exhibiting severe symptoms related to the dog bite. These included excessive salivation and unusual barking, according to local community leaders.
Sultan Deng Ngong, chief of the returnee community in Riang-Anei, reported that the incident occurred while the child’s parents were at the market seeking basic necessities. “The mysterious incident unfolded last Thursday as the child began showing signs associated with a suspected rabid dog bite,” Deng stated.
