The first drowning occurred on Monday, 10 August 2026, involving a 70-year-old man who succumbed while trying to cross the river.
Shortly after, on Tuesday, 12 August 2026, a 12-year-old girl drowned while attempting to cross River Kueng with her siblings at Malek-Alek.
