The Secretary General of the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), Akol Paul Kordit, delivered a controversial address on Saturday. His remarks included a warning to critics of the party, stating that they “will suffer.” This speech occurred during the SPLA Day celebration in Juba, where he primarily lauded President Salva Kiir Mayardit.

Addressing the gathered supporters at Juba National Stadium on May 16, Akol highlighted the significant turnout as evidence of continued South Sudanese support for Kiir and the SPLM. He asserted, “The presence of these people here today is a testimony that the people of South Sudan love you.”
