THE AFRICA TIMES | TANZANIA — The Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project, one of Africa’s largest infrastructure developments, is nearing completion. This initiative highlights Egyptian engineering expertise through a joint venture between Arab Contractors and Elsewedy Electric.
Project Overview
With an investment of $2.9 billion, the project is situated on the Rufiji River in eastern Tanzania. It is projected to generate 2,115 megawatts of electricity, effectively doubling Tanzania’s power generation capacity and providing clean energy to over 60 million people.
Construction Progress
