Ban on Illegal Land Grabbing Implemented
Authorities in South Sudan’s Ngauro Administrative Area have announced an immediate prohibition on illegal land grabbing and unauthorized land transactions. Individuals and government officials involved in these activities may face administrative and legal penalties.
This directive, issued on July 18 by Ngauro Chief Administrator Lopoyok Augustino Jervase, responds to a concerning trend of individuals illegally occupying, surveying, demarcating, allocating, and developing land without government authorization.
Impact on Lawful Land Administration
In the administrative order, Jervase emphasized that unauthorised activities undermine lawful land administration, disrupt physical planning, and instigate land disputes. Such actions threaten both peace and security as well as orderly development in the region.
