Kiambu County demonstrated excellent results at the 12th Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Association (KICOSCA) games. The competition took place in Siaya County. Athletes secured medals in indoor, field, and track events.
The week-long event gathered teams from across Kenya. Participants competed in athletics, ball games, and cultural showcases. Kiambu athletes showed notable teamwork, discipline, and competitive spirit.
Kiambu County’s Performance at KICOSCA Games
Medal Achievements
Kiambu County secured impressive wins at the event. The county achieved gold medals in Scrabble, Squash, Men’s Discus Throw, and Men’s Shot Put. These victories highlighted the athletes’ dedication.
Moreover, the county triumphed in the women’s 400-metre race. In addition, the women’s 4×100-metre relay team achieved a silver medal. The women’s 100-metre team earned a bronze medal.
However, the Men’s 4×100-metre relay team finished fifth in their event. These performances contributed to Kiambu’s overall standing.

Mr. Samuel Wachira, Kiambu County Director for Sports, praised the teams. He noted they elevated the county’s sporting reputation. “Our teams have shown remarkable commitment and discipline,” he added.
Jane Mwihaki, the women’s 400-metre gold medalist, attributed the win to teamwork. She expressed satisfaction with her individual performance. “Crossing the finish line first was an unforgettable moment,” she stated.
Additional Achievements
The men’s volleyball team secured a silver medal, contributing to the county’s success. Moreover, the Table Tennis team also earned a silver medal. These results further demonstrated Kiambu’s diverse athletic talent.
Kiambu’s Cultural group finished second in the cultural categories. The Folksong team secured third place. The scrabble team achieved fourth place in another category.
