THE AFRICA TIMES | SENEGAL — An International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff team is currently visiting Dakar from August 19 to September 1. This visit aims to continue discussions with Senegalese authorities regarding economic policies and potential reforms supported by a prospective IMF lending arrangement.
The mission is led by Mercedes Vera Martin, the IMF’s mission chief for Senegal. The Fund and the Senegalese government seek a shared understanding of the measures necessary for financial support.
Commitment to Macroeconomic Stability
The IMF has reiterated its commitment to assisting Senegal in maintaining macroeconomic stability. Furthermore, the Fund emphasizes its role in promoting sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
