THE AFRICA TIMES | KENYA —
Every Tuesday afternoon, the typically tranquil Kaharo public playground in Mukurwe-ini transforms into a vibrant arena for physical fitness aimed at senior citizens.
At precisely 1 PM, a diverse group of elderly men and women don their workout attire, uniting at the playground for a series of simple aerobics and exercise drills. Laughter fills the air as participants jest about their ever-changing flexibility.
Despite their advanced ages, their movements demonstrate striking synchronization and coordination. Observers might easily mistake them for a younger crowd, given their vibrant energy.
Not long ago, many in this group faced significant mobility issues, often unable to perform daily tasks due to various health concerns.
Now, thanks to their commitment to physical exercise, many can squat, walk, and even hop with ease.
