THE AFRICA TIMES | TOGO — The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a $1 million grant to assist Togo in addressing the humanitarian crisis in its northern Savanes Region. This area is experiencing increased pressure due to rising refugee arrivals and internal displacement, which are linked to insecurity in the Central Sahel.
Emergency Response Program
The grant will fund a 12-month emergency response program implemented by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in collaboration with the Togolese government. The initiative aims to provide immediate humanitarian assistance while enhancing the resilience of displaced individuals and their host communities.
