THE AFRICA TIMES | SOUTH AFRICA — Brazil and South Africa have signed a Memorandum of Intent, marking a significant advancement in their bilateral agricultural cooperation. This partnership emphasizes sustainability, innovation, and food security.
The agreement was formalized during the G20 Agricultural Working Group meeting held in the Western Cape. South Africa’s Minister of Agriculture, John Steenhuisen, and Brazil’s Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Luiz De Alcantara Rua, represented their respective nations.
Framework for Collaboration
The memorandum establishes a framework for enhanced collaboration over the next five years. Key components include technical exchanges, joint training programs, study visits, and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices.
