THE AFRICA TIMES | AFRICA — Africa’s technology landscape is entering a new phase in 2026, driven by the rapid expansion of fintech, artificial intelligence (AI), digital payments, e-commerce, health technology, and digital infrastructure.
Although technology investment remains uneven across the continent, several countries are emerging as key innovation and startup hubs. Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, and Rwanda stand out due to a combination of entrepreneurial activity, digital infrastructure, government support, investment, and technology adoption.
These five countries have been identified as leading Africa’s 2026 technology boom.
