A Libyan family requires approximately LYD 1,500 to obtain a healthy and safe food basket. In contrast, income levels hover around LYD 1,000 at the lower end of the wage scale, according to AbdulHakim Elwaer, FAO Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for the Near East and North Africa.
