New Licensing Rules for Fuel Stations
Morocco is introducing new licensing regulations for fuel stations, emphasizing the adoption of renewable energy. This initiative aims to align the nation’s transport and energy infrastructure with its transition away from fossil fuels.
Set to take effect on October 31, the new framework will standardize licensing procedures and transition applications to a digital platform. Investors will need to provide technical, legal, economic, and environmental documents to secure approval.
Encouraging Renewable Energy Use
The regulations encourage operators to fulfill some or all of their electricity needs through renewable sources. This can be achieved either through self-generation or by purchasing green energy. Additionally, these measures may foster the development of facilities that cater to electric and hybrid vehicles as demand for cleaner transport options increases.
