Firearms Smuggling Allegations in Warrap State
JUBA – Aleu Ayieny Aleu, South Sudan’s Interior Minister, has raised serious allegations against politicians from Warrap State. He asserts that these politicians are involved in smuggling firearms to rural areas, exacerbating communal violence throughout the country.
Political Involvement in Arms Distribution
During a parliamentary session in Juba, Minister Aleu claimed that certain politicians have been sending firearms to their home villages under the pretext of protecting their cattle. However, he noted that these weapons are later utilized in instances of communal violence.
