Leadership Changes in the SSUF/A
In a recent development, South Sudan United Front/Army (SSUF/A) Chairman and Commander-in-Chief Gen. Paul Malong Awan has enacted significant disciplinary measures against Brig. Gen. Marko Kenyang Akoon. Following the findings of an internal investigation committee, Malong has relieved Akoon of all duties, demoted him, and dismissed him from the movement.
Executive Order Details
According to Executive Order No. 17/2026, dated July 21, 2026, Malong stated that the action aligns with Articles 20.3, 20.4, and 20.7 of the SSUF/A Constitution (2021). He noted that the decision followed a thorough review of the investigation committee’s findings.
