THE AFRICA TIMES | KENYA — Muraga Technical Training Institute (TTI) Principal Mrs. Purity Murithi has expressed concern regarding the declining student enrollment in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions. She attributes this trend to delays in government funding and disruptions in examination timelines.
Impact of Examination Delays
During an interview in Chuka, Tharaka Nithi County, Mrs. Murithi stated that the late release of the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results significantly affected student intake. Unlike previous years, when results were announced in December, the 2025 results were delayed until January, disrupting the traditional transition for students into institutions for the January intake.
