Political Exploitation of the Nasir Incident
Senior opposition figure and suspended Petroleum Minister Puot Kang Chol, the first accused, has claimed that the Nasir Incident of March 2025 is being politically exploited. He argues that this exploitation aims to weaken and delegitimize the 2018 peace agreement.
Details of the Hearing
During his testimony at the special court’s 73rd session in Juba on Monday, Chol outlined his role in implementing the Revitalized Peace Agreement. He provided his account of the Nasir incident which occurred on March 3–4, 2025.
In the upcoming session, Chol is expected to address the allegations against him and deliver his closing statements.
