Support for Displaced Sudanese Students
South Sudan has pledged to assist over 1,200 displaced Sudanese students in taking their secondary school examinations in Juba. This initiative aims to prevent disruptions to their education amid ongoing conflict in Sudan.
Officials project that a total of 1,224 students will participate in the exams in the capital. Currently, approximately 800 students have arrived in Juba, while 424 others remain stranded in Aweil due to logistical challenges associated with the conflict.
Government Engagements
This commitment was announced by Vice President for the Service Cluster, Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, after a meeting with Sudan’s ambassador, Isam Mohammed H. Karar, and the Minister of General Education, Kuyok Abol Kuyok.
