In a statement dated May 2, 2026, LoDDCA reported that the drivers’ detention occurred under unclear circumstances. The association highlighted a lack of formal charges or communication regarding their status.
“The situation has further escalated this morning in Yirol, where ten Kenyan drivers are reportedly being held under unclear circumstances without any formal charges,” the association stated.
