Security Forces Respond to Ambush in Eastern Equatoria
In a significant development, security forces in Eastern Equatoria State apprehended two suspects linked to an ambush against a senior state official. This operation also resulted in the recovery of a deceased third individual, who reportedly succumbed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Details of the Operation
The incident occurred on Friday along the Kapoeta–Torit Road, targeting Hon. Epone Emmanuel Lolimo, the state’s Advisor on Special Programs. The Office of the Governor announced that the operation was executed with the support of local youth from Hiyala Village.
The ambush left Lolimo wounded, with a gunshot injury to his thigh. Following the attack, the suspects were identified as Oyom Emmanuel Ikuyong and Wani Simon Mariko.
