THE AFRICA TIMES | SOUTH SUDAN — Beijing – South Sudan has voiced strong criticism against international sanctions and an arms embargo imposed on the country. Officials argue that such measures undermine state authority and obstruct efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace and development.
Official Remarks at the Forum
During her address at the 2026 Forum on Global Human Rights Governance in Beijing, Agnes Oswaha, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, highlighted the ongoing structural inequalities faced by countries in the Global South. These barriers, she argued, significantly hinder their developmental progress.
Oswaha addressed delegates from over 100 countries and international organizations, emphasizing the need for significant reforms to create a more inclusive and equitable international system.
