IGAD Urges Adherence to Peace Provisions
JUBA – The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has emphasized the necessity for strict adherence to the provisions of the Revitalised Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS). This call follows high-level discussions with President Salva Kiir in Juba this week.
The message was articulated on Tuesday by IGAD’s Special Envoy to South Sudan, Ambassador Moussa Djama Ali. He was accompanied by the IGAD Head of Mission to South Sudan, Dr. Victoria Anib. The meeting primarily addressed the ongoing political transition within the country and preparations for the upcoming 2026 elections.
