THE AFRICA TIMES | BENIN — Benin is accelerating its industrial transformation by enhancing local processing, strengthening energy infrastructure, and developing African-owned brands, stated George Elombi, President of the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank).
These remarks followed a visit to Benin, where Elombi met with President Romuald Wadagni to discuss the next phase of the country’s industrial development.
The discussions focused on plans to increase locally processed cotton from 40,000 tonnes to 140,000 tonnes and strengthen the energy infrastructure to support this expansion, affirmed Elombi.
