THE AFRICA TIMES | KENYA —
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has expressed concern over the rising incidence of academic fraud, plagiarism, and counterfeit academic certificates among the youth. This alarming trend threatens to undermine integrity and erode public trust in educational institutions.
Normalizing Dishonesty
During the launch of the Ethics and Integrity Club at Mount Kenya University (MKU), EACC Chairperson Dr. David Oginde emphasized that dishonesty has become increasingly accepted in various segments of society, including universities.
He revealed that the commission is currently overwhelmed by investigations related to forged academic certificates. Some of these cases involve individuals in senior positions in both public and private sectors.
