The Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary (CS), Opiyo Wandayi, has launched the Last Mile Connectivity Programme (LMCP). This initiative operates under the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC) project and took place in Lwala Rabuor village, located in Nyatike Sub-county.
Milestone Initiative
During his address at Lwala Comprehensive School, CS Wandayi highlighted that Nyatike has experienced a lack of electricity since independence. He emphasized that this initiative represents a significant and overdue milestone for the region.
Project Phases and Funding
The initial phase of the project funds a 600-meter power line extension connecting local households to the national grid. Future phases aim to expand coverage to additional homes within Nyatike.
