Increase in Gold Reserves
Ghana’s official gold reserves rose to 24.4 tonnes in June 2026, valued at US$3.65 billion. This information comes from the Ghana News Agency.
This increase signifies a recovery from the 18.6 tonnes recorded at the end of 2025. It also reflects an increase from the 20.8 tonnes held in March 2026.
Value Growth of Gold Holdings
The central bank reported that the value of the country’s gold holdings increased from US$2.68 billion at the close of 2025 to US$3.65 billion by June 2026. This significant growth highlights the importance of gold in Ghana’s economy.
