Authorities in Kwale County have rescued a 22-year-old man who had allegedly been chained for five months at the home of a traditional healer in Mwamanga Village. The individual, identified as Mwatela Dela, was reportedly taken there for the treatment of a mental health condition.
Conditions of Confinement
Mwatela Dela was discovered confined in a locked room, restrained with heavy chains secured to iron bars fixed to the floor. This alarming situation came to light after the victim’s father reported the unlawful detention to the police.
