THE AFRICA TIMES | TANZANIA — American travelers are driving a significant rise in demand for African safaris. This influx has allowed Asilia Africa to report that nearly half of its bookings now originate from the United States. Recent data spanning three years, from 2023/24 to 2025/26, establishes the US as the largest source market, surpassing the United Kingdom, which holds a 9 percent share. Collectively, the top five markets—US, UK, Canada, Australia, and Germany—account for over two-thirds of total bednights.
Travelers are also immersing themselves deeper into the wilderness. The average length of stay has slightly increased to 2.8 nights for the 2025/26 season, compared to 2.7 nights
