Renewed Communal Clashes in Tonj North County
At least 49 individuals have lost their lives, and 33 others sustained injuries following violent communal confrontations in Tonj North County, located in South Sudan’s Warrap State. Local authorities reported that these clashes erupted early Thursday morning at approximately 5:00 AM.
Details of the Incident
The violence occurred primarily at the Machar-Pakuek cattle camp and Mading Juer Boma within Majak Payam. William Wol Mayom, the Warrap State Minister of Information and Communication Services, characterized the incident as a “brutal attack.”
