Cabinet Approves Fiscal Framework for 2026/2027
On Friday, South Sudan’s Council of Ministers, led by President Salva Kiir Mayardit, approved the Resource Envelope and Expenditure Framework for the 2026/2027 fiscal year. The total proposed budget is SSP 11.3 trillion.
This approval followed a detailed presentation by the Minister of Finance and Planning, Daniel Ayulo Kuol, who provided insights into projected government revenues and planned expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year.
Unanimous Endorsement and Legislative Review
After extensive discussions, the Cabinet unanimously endorsed the framework. They resolved to forward the proposal to the Transitional National Legislative Assembly for debate and approval, adhering to the constitutional protocols governing public finance management.
