The National Assembly Departmental Committee on Communication, Information and Innovation convened stakeholder consultations on the National Addressing Bill 2025. This initiative represents a crucial step in transforming Kenya’s outdated spatial referencing systems into a unified, digital-ready national addressing framework.
Sponsored by Kiambu Town MP Machua Waithaka, the Bill aims to establish standardized addressing infrastructure. This framework will underpin e-commerce logistics, emergency response, security coordination, and public service delivery across the country.
Current State of the Addressing System
