THE AFRICA TIMES | SOUTH AFRICA — Durban, South Africa – The KwaZulu-Natal Tourism & Film Authority (KZN T&FA) awarded bursaries to 33 film students. These students are studying at AFDA, the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), and the Durban University of Technology (DUT). The authority aims to boost the film industry with skilled professionals. Investment in Film Education The bursaries fall under the Industry Skills Development (ISD) Film Bursary program for 2025. The official signing of the bursaries represents a key investment in the creative sector within the province. Funding aims to empower aspiring filmmakers within KwaZulu-Natal. Supporting Local Talent KwaZulu-Natal’s film industry is currently experiencing growth. This initiative seeks to equip talent with necessary skills. Students will contribute to local and international storytelling. Future of Filmmaking These recipients will receive financial support for their education. Support will help them become filmmakers and directors. They will also become successful industry professionals.
