Eswatini King Tours Dubai’s Giant Solar Park

THE AFRICA TIMES | ESWATINI — King Mswati III of Eswatini toured the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai. This is the world’s largest single-site solar power project. The park aims to generate 5,000 megawatts by 2030. Visit to the Solar Park The solar park operates on the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model. A total investment of AED 50 billion (approximately E250 billion) supports the project. This substantial investment underscores the park’s significance. Guided Tour and Progress Dr. Aaesha Alnuaimi, Director of the Sustainability and Innovation Centre at DEWA, led the King’s tour. She briefed him on the park’s objectives and development. The tour highlighted the park’s technological advancements. Currently, the park is in its fifth phase. It is producing 950 megawatts of power. Expectations are for it to deliver 1,800 megawatts by next year.
