THE AFRICA TIMES | CÔTE D’IVOIRE — African football legends will grace the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Côte d’Ivoire 2023 Coaches Symposium. The symposium will occur in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. It is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, September 12-13, 2024. Notable Attendees and Significance El Hadji Diouf, Senegal Football legend. Photo: CAF Jay-Jay Okocha (Nigeria), El Hadji Diouf (Senegal), and Mark Fish (South Africa) are attending. Joseph-Antoine Bell, Gadji Celi, and Otto Addo will also participate. Addo currently coaches the Black Stars of Ghana. Augustine Eguavoen, Luis Boa Morte, and Pape Thiaw are among other expected attendees. Boa Morte is the current coach of Guinea-Bissau. This event underscores the importance of experience in African football development. Objective and Scope of the Symposium The symposium marks a significant initiative by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). It brings together 50 national team coaches from CAF member associations. This gathering facilitates a unique exchange of ideas. Key figures, including Emerse Faé, will participate in the talks. Faé led Côte d’Ivoire to victory in the Africa Cup of Nations 2023. Jose Peseiro, former Super Eagles head coach, is a panelist at the event.
